The United States (US) Strategy of Pivot to Asia: Balancing the China’s Economic Power in Southeast Asia

Despite the US official statement that purpose of its pivot to Asia is rebalance foreign policy towards Asia, it also known aimed for “rebalance” growing China's power in economy and military. Prospectively, aims create a more balanced economy, security diplomacy. However, risks creating Chinese perceptions suspicions lead competitive acquisition position “superpower” region, especially economy. So how did implement strategy concerned with economic growth region? Thus, this article discuss facing rise activities Southeast Asia. The study was qualitative by conducting library research, data were analysed using thematic approach. highlights four strategies elements, i.e. reducing defence budget, new plans, engagement multilateral regional institutions, promoting Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). This confirms despite aim Pacific, all implemented China as an region. Overall, concludes only created another continuous rivalry between US-China hegemonic superpower
